Off the Mogollon Rim there is a bright highway and the Milky Way skyway.

Guiding Light – Experience hope and perseverance captured in Carla Meeske’s inspiring night photograph from the Mogollon Rim, where a winding road transforms into a river of light beneath the star-filled Arizona sky. This uplifting astrophotography embodies the message that “a shining light will guide us forward,” with vehicle headlights creating a luminous path through the Tonto National Forest darkness. The Milky Way stretches overhead like a celestial highway, while the earthbound lights below mirror our galaxy’s brilliant guidance. Perfect for those seeking inspirational Southwest photography that combines natural wonder with human journey, this fine art metal print brings hope and cosmic perspective into your space.

Artist’s Story

In an early speech to raise our hope, President Biden spoke of a Shining Light that will guide us forward. I was listening to him as I took this image, and surely as the day is long, the road turned into a river of light. Keep the faith. The stars are still shining. I still believe. Shot looking west off the edge of the Mogollon Rim, Tonto National Forest, Arizona.
