Artist’s Story

There are two ways to photograph Monument Valley. One is to hire a guide and go down into the valley to capture the iconic structures from below. That wasn’t an option for me this time. The other is to remain at the visitor center and capture the most iconic image of all, the mittens in all their glory. In May when the Milky Way arches over them like a starlight headdress, the visitor center’s perspective is just fine.
