The full moon rises in regal blue glory, crowning Four Peaks and blessing the verdant Sonoran Desert. For Carla Meeske, capturing this image was pure delight. The Four Peaks are sacred mountains, and getting the moon at the perfect time, with the perfect atmosphere to dress the mountains was magical! Taken off Bartlett Lake Road, Tonto National Forest, Scottsdale, AZ.
Artist’s Story
Once upon a time the moon slid into the sky, crowning the 4 Peaks, and I was there to bear witness. The color of the land was regal blue, in honor of the Kings of Phoenix who hold the gateway of the East. The mountains of this land are filled with compassionate Spirits – Spirits of the land itself, and of representatives of the people who have lived here for millennia. These people stay to watch over us, to protect us, and to help the children grow strong and true. It doesn’t matter if we are native or imported, we matter to them, and they send us blessings. Blueberry Moon is my gift to them, in gratitude for their kindness. And I shot it using my trusty Tamron 500mm on a perfect night with an atmosphere that brought the moon to lighted perfection.
