The Salt River band of wild horses thrives in the riparian zone of the Salt River outside of Mesa, Arizona. These horses are treasured by the community. In this image two feisty stallions square off for a dominance display, splashing the water and glaring ominously. “Take that you Salty Dog”. No harm came from their encounter, and soon they were grazing peacefully side by side.
