The Campground King

This special Ponderosa Pine is in the Hoyer Campground in Greer, AZ. When I was a kid I spent my summers in the White Mountains, riding my horse and hugging the trees. Yes! These grand Ponderosas are regal and resilient. I camped next to this tree a couple of times. The first time I captured the tree with Andromeda. The next year I returned at the exact same time, so I could get a time-lapse of the scene, and have it resolve into the image. My husband Matt wrote the music.
The second year my nephew and his son joined me, so this movie was a family affair.

If you try night photography, remember you don’t really have to go far from your car. Just drive to a dark place, and see what you find!
